Mom had her checkup yesterday. Dr. Brigdon is away, but she saw someone else. M&F commented that he smiles more. I guess that’s a good thing. He referred Mom to a cannabis clinic, as did Dr. Brigdon, to stimulate her appetite. Her consultation with this clinic is June 30, 2018, at 10:00am. Mom was pretty Read more about checkup & referral[…]
Mom’s biopsy is today. This will allow the lab to determine if the new medication will be effective. She’s not up yet, but I imagine she’ll be stirring soon. The appointment is for 7:45am. I’ll keep everyone posted.
Mom now has a biopsy scheduled for Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 7:45am. It should be a 20-minute procedure with a 3 or 4 hour rest in hospital. There is a 3~5% chance as stated by Dr. Brigdon, or 15% chance as stated by Dr. Oviatt, of having a collapsed lung, in which case Mom Read more about biopsy & test scheduled[…]
Since May 5, 2018, Mom has been taking three cancer tablets per week instead of her regular four. She’s been pretty tired the past few months and has missed going out places or stays in the car, like when Floyd goes shopping. Not so good. He looked at the X-rays and said it really Read more about no dental surgery needed[…]

Previously, the doc said a biopsy of lung material was needed. He said that this wasn’t possible because of Mom’s weakened state – she’d Read more about cancer drug update[…]
Mom has not been feeling well the past few weeks. She went for her regular blood checkup last week. They said they found blood in her urine. The doc on duty said that it was probably cancer in the bladder. I’m not sure how accurate a non-cancer specialist could be in this diagnosis. Mom seems Read more about bladder cancer[…]
Mom decided to reduce her cancer pills from 4 per week to 3. Why? She’s saying that she has no energy, that she’s tired all the time. Floyd suggested to try 3 for one week then 4 the next and back to 3, etc. Just a quick update. I’ll keep everyone posted.
Mom has decided that a biopsy is not going to happen. The risks are too great. There is a small chance that an infection or pneumonia would take hold, and there is no way should would survive that. The biopsy would only tell whether another medication would be useful to her or not. But her Read more about no biopsy[…]
